    @codesnake

I suspect that this is the part that you want. I haven't been on this forum long enough to know the convention for attaching/referencing larger files. (302 lines)

New build of LibreELEC for WeTek Play 2 - 8.0.1.cs2.

    What's new in this build:
    * Fix bookmark thumbnails creation when playing a video with amcodec.

For download links see the first post in this thread.

    Anyone with this problem ?

    Thanks @codesnake for your builds!

I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my play2 or there is a serious bug in the dvb driver:|
I have my box with a DVB-C/T tuner with tvheadend 4.2 for about 2 months and been experiencing the same problem while using all of the 8.0.x builds.
After a random time after the booting the dvb subsystem (as I assume) crashes with the following error:

    May 08 23:25:22 WetekPlay2 kernel: Internal error: Oops - undefined instruction: 0 [#1] SMP
    May 08 23:25:22 WetekPlay2 kernel: Modules linked in: hci_uart bluetooth 6lowpan_iphc 8021q wetekdvb(PO) media(O) mali(O) dhd(O) cfg80211

(for the complete log, please see https://pastebin.com/xX1zAx9k)

Tvheadend seems to be crippled too, since the web UI hardly works. After restarting the service.tvheadend42 the web UI works as usual but there are not tuners available at all. The only solution then is to reset the box, but since the crashes occur randomly they can happen even a few minutes after the reset:/

I also tested vdr with the official 8.0.0 build as it was current, but it didn't change anything. Tvheadend 4.0 doesn't solve the problem either. Under the current WeOS it seems to work fine, but this is no alternative for me.

@rmm Do you have the same with official builds from libreelec.tv?
  • rmmrmm Posts: 9WeTek Community Member
@codesnake I had it with the official 8.0.0 build which I installed at first. I haven't tested the 8.0.1 yet, because I noticed that your builds come more often and are at least as stable as the official ones.
Do you think it could bring anything if I test the official 8.0.1 build?
  • codesnakecodesnake Posts: 744WeTek Community Member, Developers
@rmm Really weird, I never experienced such crashes on WP2. Did you try to use the tuner on Android, does it work correctly there?
  • rmmrmm Posts: 9WeTek Community Member
@codesnake I can't recall having any issues with the tuner on Android. To confirm that, I booted the box with it yesterday after your comment and let it play multiple channels for a few minutes each, finally leaving it playing one for the whole day until now. I've just tested switching to other channels and everything seems to work as it should.

    Hi,
Would appreciate if someone could direct my exactly how to update the firmware.
I've tried the TAR update and the SD Card img, i've tried extracting them, using them as they are after download, with resetting the Play 2 - nothing helped.
I tried also from the internal WE-UPDATE app and searched for local update - could not locate the file.

Currently I have installed on the PLAY 2 is Android 5.1 and I dont have the "update channel" menu. How to proceed?

@Mosquiche This thread is about LibreELEC, not about Android.

How do I change from Android to LibreELEC?
  • RaybuntuRaybuntu Posts: 932WeTek Community Member, Developers
I fell for the same. There is a bug inside. @codesnake forgot the export symbols patch (which he uses for WH) for WP2. Amlvideodri will not load and Kodi will assume there are RW issues.
  • rmmrmm Posts: 9WeTek Community Member
@codesnake: I installed the new official 8.0.2 build and tested it against VDR and Tvheadend 4.0 and 4.2. It looks like the problem I reported is caused only by Tvheadend (both versions). VDR seems to work stable now. And WeTV, as far as I can tell, worked stable anyway...

I found out that the dvb driver crashes during channel switching/tuning, so there must be something that Tvheadend calls then, what VDR doesn't

I could do some more testing, but I'm not sure where I should report this issue and how I could help. I'd be glad for advice...

@rmm You can post here your kernel log after a crash, and I will try to fix the issue.

@crazyturk Please send your kernel log after a DVB driver crash.

@crazyturk I need kernel log. You can take it from SSH prompt using the following command:
    dmesg | pastebinit

@crazyturk Thanks for the logs. I don't see any signs that the crashes are happening in DVB driver. From your logs I see only that the tvheadend process crashes, but unfortunately the logs doesn't give enough info to tell why exactly it crashed.

Do you have the same issue with official builds from libreelec.tv?
  • crazyturkcrazyturk Posts: 52WeTek Community Member
@codesnake thanks for the info.Yes, I live in the official releases.in other versions, is becoming less and less.
