WeTek OS 1.1.6 for WeTek Play [25/11/2015]

We are proud to announce that we start seeding OTA update of WeTek OS v1.1.6







If for some reason the OTA update fails, you can manually download the update files and follow this guide to do a manual update:


Download WeTek OS 1.1.6

Use Wipe data and Wipe media IF you want to make a clean installation
(This will delete all the settings on your WeTek)


Or

If you want to make a clean install or recover android on NAND

Changelog of the new 1.1.6 version

Android:
- Fix bug with delete button:
      - Use long press button "delete" to take a screenshot
- Add Hungarian language

WeUpdate:
- Improvements on Turkish translation

WeTek Theater:
- Fix DVB-T 7M Bandwidth issue
- Changes for LNB power off on exit(s)
- Switch off LNB before standby
- Update SAT and SRV table after merge
- Fixed crash ATSC tunner when start theater
- Mask ATSC subtitle
- Add Russian and Ukrainian translation
- Fix DVTplayer crashing (back to launcher black & need double exit)
- Disable MultipleFrequency function
- Improvements for Australian users

Launcher:
- Add TalkBack in Launcher's Main screen

Update Apps:
- New KODI 15.2
- GAPPS
- Aptoide
- others apps

On a Clean installation:
- YouTube for Google TV (discontinued version) Deleted
- Skype Deleted
- Box Deleted
- Chrome Deleted
- ES File Explorer Deleted


After this new installation finishes, please turn off your WeTek.
After turning on, please make a reboot, for the apps ti update properly

    wow... that's sound great now have android update.. this is android 4.4.2 (kitkat) ?
    but it's too long to wait for the update.. wetek theater seems no new improvement in user interface..

    Doesn't work for me, i had openelec in nand, and fails when format cache, then i change the recovery by cwm-v6.0.5.1-dvbbox.zip..and now black screen..boots from sd but no from nand (i use a usb pendrive for update)

    (using tfcard for update..update's fine but...)Maybe..there's problem updating using a no fullhd TV?, i revert back to openelec and now, my tv says not compatible mode

    after all i installed 1.1.6 and my tv says too not compatible mode...maybe assume cos anybody are using a fulltv with this box?¿?¿, just i have 2 tv at home and booth are the same brand, and appears the same message

    I have a FullHD and no issues...

    Unzip and put the file in attachments with the other 3 files on the root of mSD for clean installation and then try again.

    Thanks for the file, as i said it's working, but like i have no fullhd tv's, the message once the received it's updated it's video signal not soported, please change the resolution by default, causes incompatibility with no fullhd tv's.
    Tested on samsung le40rxxx & le21xxx

    Sorry, somehow i've misunderstood what i've read :D

    I spoke with the development team and the default resolution on a new installation of Android is 720p...

    But, try to connect by telnet to your android ip (please check it on your router)

    And type these commands:
    setprop ubootenv.var.hdmimode 720p50hz
    setprop ubootenv.var.outputmode 720p50hz
    

    Reboot WeTek again

    Got new Play & S2 tuners yesterday.No internet my place.Stopped by daughters & used her internet.Upgraded to this version ok.Upgraded BEFORE INSTALLING S2 TUNERS. Installed S2 module at home.Tuners identified,go to Config in Theater & CANMOT SELECT/HIGHLIGHT ANYTHING!
    Can do NOTHING IN MENU!
    Do i need to connect to NET again & re-run update since installing S2 Tuner?
    Any info/help appreciated!

    Welcome to WeTek Forum

    Have you tried the air mouse?
    Did you checked the bateries of your RCU?

    Can you please record me a video so i can take a look in what's happening?

    You can always try a factory reset (since you didn't have installed anything) and start from scratch.

    How can I disable the translation language WeTeK Theater. Russian places and a lot of misses her stick and non-working label.
    Without changing the language in Android. Attachment not found.

    i get update error update cannot proceed .The update package is too large,there is not enough space on the storage partition.
    please use a different update package with the appropriate size.
    Any solution to this i tried both online as well as manual update,tried to free space but still same error as above any suggestion

    please try this before you start the update process.

    Android Settings / Apps / all apps / WeUpdate / Clear Cache.

    Does this update include an online update application that works?
    After 70 or 80% it changes to Resume Download which when you click on it does nothing.
    Plus you need to use the air mouse to click on it in the first place.
    I tried to visit this forum to manually download it but that just kills everything. I have to pull the power.
    Is it that there isnt enough space?
    If so why cant it download to usb?

    The only way is a factory reset. Updating now at last.

    resume download does nothing.

    okay – i did a factory reset and then run we:update…
    …that seemed to be a solution…
    steve was right.

    not the most elegant solution, but at least it seemed to work…

    I can not play app youtube at 720p/1080p , it can select reslution auto or 360p only .Help me please.
