This tutorial will help you to manually update WeTek Play with Android firmware.

What You will need:

1. Micro SD

2. recovery.img and factory_update_param.aml file

3. WeTek Play Android Firmware .zip file

File preparation:

After downloading WeTek OS Firmware .zip file, copy it together with recovery.img and factory_update_param.aml to Micro SD card.

Keep in mind that you will need to edit factory_update_param.aml to match exact name of WeTek OS Firmware .zip file.

For example, if WeTek OS Firmware .zip file have name DB-J483-wetek-ota-2015-03-11_15-37-22.zip , your factory_update_param.aml will have this content:
--wipe_cache
--wipe_media
--wipe_data
--update_package=/udisk/DB-J483-wetek-ota-2015-03-11_15-37-22.zip

After you successfully edit factory_update_param.aml , please turn off your WeTek Play, insert MicroSD in WeTek Play, and watch this Video:

Probably some easy way could also be tought.
If I'm not mistaken on android version there is a Upgrade or Update app, that way is only necessary to put update zip (downloaded from wetek site) on usb flash drive or microsd and choose the update package from the app (without the wipe data and cache).

At night I can check this in my WeTek if you need some help, jay.

Probably because is a generic tutorial, and was made with a older version, that probably would not be in interest to download right now. And the tutorial should be used as example, but with recent files from wetek download site?

    Hi there,

thanks a lot for your effort and your time.

I've an openelec box but I want to move on an android installation on NAND and run openelec from the sd card. This tut and the files you mention can be used for such purpose?

So far I can't find anywhere else any topic close enough to my question

    thanks

    mauro
