Remote control not working?

MikeyyMikeyy Posts: 92WeTek Community Member
Hello Wetek,

Got my Wetek Play long time ago, but lately remote control isn't working.
I changed batteries, and LED on remote control is lighting up when I press any key, but wetek play isn't reacting.

Once it managed to turn off device, but that's via infrared. After that I didn't manage to do anything with remote.

1. How do I find out 100% if remote is faulty or device has problems with receiving signal?
2. If remote is faulty, how do I replace it?

    Hi
There is a couple of tests you can do t see if you we can see where is the problem.

FOLLOW THIS TROUBLESHOOT ONLY OF YOUR DEVICE IS INDEED WETEK PLAY 1.

First, you can Remove your USB receiver, you can found it inside your Wetek. Just follow this tutorial on how to proceed:
    http://wetekforums.com/v/index.php?p=/discussion/6274/tutorial-how-to-remove-rf-unit-from-wetek/p1

Once you removed the USB, please connected it to a PC, and let it install it's drivers.
Once it does, please attempt a re-sync of the remote, this can be done by pressing and holding the OK+BACK buttons on the remote for a few seconds until light starts to blink. (Be sure you have not any other RF unit from other devices connected)

When the light stops blinking, the pair is completed.
Now try to change the volume on the PC, or even use the Air mouse function.
It should be working on the PC.
If it is indeed working you just need to plug it back into the Wetek device (recommend doing it on the lateral USB port)
And your WeTek is fully operational.

If still is not working could you please open a telnet connection to your box in Android
You can do this by using a tool like PuTTY
Configure it just like this photo:

    Telnet : http://prntscr.com/dehp09

If prompted to type an user and password, just press the enter button, as it should not be required any telnet credentials.

    lsusb

You should get a response similar to this: http://prntscr.com/cvwi95

Can you please copy and paste here the response of the machine?

    Best Regards

It's actually LibreELEC on my box (NAND installation). It's like that since OpenELEC 5.0.6, I never run Android.
This is response for "lsusb" command.

    LibreELEC:/ # lsusb

    Bus 001 Device 005: ID 2252:0106
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 05e3:0608 Genesys Logic, Inc. Hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 05e3:0608 Genesys Logic, Inc. Hub

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

I'm not actually very fond of opening box since everything is working except remote.

when you plugged the dongle on the PC. Did it installed the drivers?

    The re-sync did not work?
