RS-232 pinout

JoseJose Posts: 85WeTek Community Member
Hi,

Is it possible to supply the rs-232 pin-out for the cable supplied?

I would like to know the connections on the rs-232 side and on the jack side...

Thanks,

José

I will see if I can get you this information.

For what exactly do you need it?

    To be honest?

I want to use it in another DVB device, a Amiko Mini Combo.

In order to do that i just need to adapt from 2.5 to 3.5 jack...

Have you found any compatible adapters?

    No, not yet.

Maybe, just in case, I will do myself a null modem connection RS-232 <-> 3.5 Jack so that I can use with Amiko and so I don't mess with the WETEK cable.

    I have not decided yet.

    Thanks for the info,

    José

    Re: RS-232 pinout

    Ok,

    More on this...

The Amiko uses a 3.5" Female Jack with 4 connectors as RS-232 input/output.

    So, it uses:

    Connector 1 - TX
    Connector 2 - RX
    Connector 3 - no use
    Connector 4 - Gnd

Being connector 4 the closest to the cable and as the male RS-232 9 pin concerns is a standard null modem connection (2,3 and 5).

So I am going to make a cable by hand, is easy then trying to adapt 3 connector 2.5" male (WETEK cable) to 4 connector 3.5" female/male (Amiko cable)

It is very strange that, first Amiko does not supply the cable for is own RS-232 connection, and two that it seems that I do not find a RS-232 <-> 3.5 Jack null modem cable anywhere.

    ;)

    Hello,

There was no rs-232 cable when my Wetek OE was delivered.
I´ve big problem with Wetek (cycles booting and never start) I´ve tried everything that not involves rs232 but nothing works.
I made my own cable with standard null modem pinout rs232 (loop 1-4-6, loop 7-8, pin 2 Rx, pin 3 Tx and pin5 Gnd) to 2.5 jack but I've got nothing on my terminal when Wetek tries to start. The cable works, it´s been loopback tested.
Please can you provide pinout for rs232 wetek cable? Right now I´m stuck and I cant do nothing with my Wetek

    Thanks

    Hi

If you WeTek is on the boot loop, you don't need to use any RS 232 cable

Please check the SIM card inside the WeTek:

    http://www.wetekforums.com/v/index.php?p=/discussion/13059/tutorial-how-to-check-your-security-sim-on-wetek-openelec#latest

Don't worry you won't lose any warranty.

    Best regards
